Dear Honorable Minister Ray Halligan,
On August 4, 2006, we received your letter dated July 24, 2006 by post, addressed to us, Interim Representatives of Bloc 8406.
Your letter gives a very much precious and appreciated support to all members of Bloc 8406. You are absolutely reasonable when quoting the words of the late Prime Minister Winston Churchill : “All the great things are simple and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom, honour, duty, mercy, hope.” These make us more strongly confident that inspite of different histories, customs, cultures,...of all Nations and Races around the world, these high and beautiful values such as freedom, honour, duty, mercy and hope… are indeed the same.
The Australia Federation that was founded in January 1, 1901 on the basic of the Constitution of Australia, ratified on July 9, 1900 was indeed a strong foundation for your beautiful and peaceful Country to create, develop and promote these high and beautiful values.
It is unfortunate until now, the Vietnamese People still have no such foundation. That is why, today, we are fighting for it, and ready to pay any cost to obtain it. We strongly believe that, with the Vietnamese People’s self-reliant and determined character, and with the more and more passionate and effective support of friends from the International Community, such as the Parliament of Western Australia and yourself, this fight for a true freedom and democracy for Việt Nam will be successful in the very near future.
We would like to thank you very much, and we wish you, your family, and your colleagues good health and happiness.
Sincerely yours,
Interim Representatives of Bloc 8406
Consisting of 1,842 Peaceful Democratic Fighters
